One to one wellbeing support
Our deaf young people advisors want to know what’s troubling you, and then they can offer guidance, tips and advice.
Are you age 11-17? Are you feeling a little bit low or anxious? Have you seen or experienced something that did not make you feel safe? Are you feeling unsure or worried about things? Do you think that talking to someone might help with your confidence?
SignHealth’s 1-1 wellbeing support is for deaf young people.
If something difficult happens to you, it can make things harder for you later in your life for your mental health and wellbeing. At SignHealth we want everybody to feel safe, be healthy and can achieve anything you want to.
We provide a personal and confidential space for you to offload and share how you’re feeling with us. It’s important to do this and not suppress your emotions. We offer guidance, tips and advice.
For example, if you feel low or often angry, we offer coping strategies on how to improve your mental health and learn how to feel calm with our resources to help. We will listen carefully and with empathy, so that it’s a safe space for you.
The person you meet will be a qualified Children and Young People Engagement Advisor. Our team are all deaf themselves and qualified in mental health first aid. We have years of experience working with deaf young people and we look forward to meeting you.
We cannot help with personal care or provide a service where you need someone with you to attend places in the community.
We are not an emergency service and we cannot deal with very serious things. If it is an emergency, please tell someone who can support you straight away.

We encourage you to let someone in your family or a teacher or wellbeing officer at your school or college know about how you are feeling too. They can also help you fill in the support request referral form.
It is very important that your private information, like your name, address and phone number, is kept private and safe. We will not share this information with other people unless we have to. We will keep your information in a secure place.
If you are a professional working with a deaf young person, you can use this online referral form.
When we receive your support request, we will have a look and we will get in touch with you. If we can support you, we will offer one-to-one sessions online or face to face depending on where you live. This can be short or long term support for you to achieve your goals.
We make sure that children and young people who receive our support are safe, empowered and confident. You can read more about this here.
Please let us know if you have any questions or comments about the 1-1 wellbeing support service we provide.
